NOTIZOP

Set up the Android SDK

The Notizop SDK is a Kotlin library on Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android 6.0 (API 23) and later. It registers each device, shows your notifications and reports what happened to them.

  1. Add your app in Notizop

    Open Domains, choose Add site or app, pick Android and enter your package name (the applicationId). Copy the App Key (cpk_…).

  2. Connect Firebase

    In the Firebase console, add an Android app with the same package name and put google-services.json in your app module. Add the Google services plugin:

    // root build.gradle.kts
    plugins {
        id("com.google.gms.google-services") version "4.5.0" apply false
    }

    // app/build.gradle.kts
    plugins {
        id("com.android.application")
        id("com.google.gms.google-services")
    }

    Then in Firebase open Project settings › Service accounts › Generate new private key and upload that JSON file to your app in the Notizop panel. It stays on the server and never goes into your APK.

  3. Add the Notizop library

    Add the Notizop Android library to app/build.gradle.kts using the Gradle line shown on your app’s Install code page. It already includes Firebase Messaging.

  4. Initialise the SDK

    Call Notizop.init once in your Application class:

    class MyApplication : Application() {
        override fun onCreate() {
            super.onCreate()
            Notizop.init(
                this,
                NotizopConfig(
                    appKey = "cpk_your_app_key",
                    baseUrl = "https://notizop.com",
                    smallIconRes = R.drawable.ic_stat_push
                )
            )
        }
    }

    Register the class in your manifest with android:name=".MyApplication".

  5. Ask for permission (Android 13+)

    Android 13 and later only show notifications after the user allows them:

    if (!Notizop.hasNotificationPermission(this)) {
        Notizop.requestNotificationPermission(this)
    }
  6. Send a test

    Run the app on a real device, allow notifications, then send a test from the panel. You will see delivered, opened and dismissed in the report.

Users, tags and events

// after login
Notizop.setUser("user-123", mapOf("plan" to "pro"))

// tags for segments
Notizop.setTags(mapOf("city" to "Surat", "lang" to "gu"))

// custom events for segments and conversions
Notizop.trackEvent("purchase_completed", mapOf("cart_total" to 2499, "currency" to "INR"))

// after logout (tags are kept)
Notizop.logout()

Tip: The SDK also shows messages you send from the Firebase Console or your own FCM server, and it can work next to an existing FirebaseMessagingService.
